The Mackay Regional Council for Social Development (MRCSD) is a social planning and community development organisation designed to assist groups and individuals to address social issues which affect them. The geographical region covered by the organisation includes the eight local government authorities of Mackay, Belyando, Nebo, Mirani, Bowen, Whitsunday, Broadsound and Sarina soon to be known as Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regions - a catchment of approx 156,000 people.

As well as its own programs and projects, MRCSD is pleased to host a self-directed development hub for community organisations. This site, known as COGS (Community Organisations and Groups Support) includes a mentoring program for workers and organisations, and a resource link for sourcing information on common issues arising in the day-to day operation of the sector.
